Produced by George Martin for Parlophone Records in 1962 and released in July.
It was the time he was being introduced to a funny 4-piece band from Liverpool called - the Beatles. They had come down for an artist test on the 6th June 1962 in an old white van, looking fairly thin and weedy, but giving a very entertaining session nevertheless.
Musically the session was felt to be ok, nothing too special, but as George Martin said to his assistant at the time, "I've got nothing to lose", so he signed them to a standard EMI recording contract, and back they came in September to record "Love me Do". And history was made.
