1968: Grade 12 at Brisbane State High. Studied languages and economics.
1969: Clerk / Trainee accountant at Wallace Bishop Jewellers.

Mainframes & Mini-computers: Working at Pioneer Sugar's Brisbane office and under tutelage from Arthur Andersen & Co, wrote a Financial Modelling application in Cobol. At Pioneer Sugar's North Qld offices, supervised Payroll and Canepay systems written by local software contractors in Basic Plus.

Working on NCR mini-computers and writing in Cobol, adapted Property Rates, Cash Receipting and Debtors applications to meet Local Government needs. Trained council staff throughout Qld & NSW.

1986
In 1985 upgraded Qld State Govt Cobol applications & trained staff on the ICL mainframe at Main Roads. In April 1986, wrote a General Ledger and Debtors program for PCs in DBase II.
1986-
today
PCs: Data Analysis & Database Management in the universal DBase III plus database language, compiling each package of scripts into an executable using Wordtech's royalty-free, multi-user release of Quicksilver. Working with Datacare who supported the installations, Steve wrote feature-rich, integrated applications for hundreds of sites, involving thousands of employees.
Full office systems were thus installed at: Qld Theatre Company, then Northern Securities, followed by Anglican, AOG, Baptist, Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Lutheran and Uniting Church Aged Care Homes, Bible Colleges, the BlueCare Centres throughout Queensland, and Christian products wholesalers throughout Australasia - see below.
In 2001, web enabled Jack Bradford's Brisbane Junior Theatre, then in 2008 Starlight Theatre Co-op.

today
Microsoft SQL Server: Web-based Database Management in Active Server Pages scripts, combining server-side commands in SQL and VBScript with client-side commands in HTML and JavaScript to provide search pages for retail staff. Wholesalers upload their in-house database tables daily for retailer enquiry purposes and download orders subsequently placed. In 2005, Care and Share Products invested in a mobile platform for their sales team with Dexterra, which synchronized data on their Pocket PC's daily via GPRS over the web, enabling them to transmit orders from almost anywhere in Australia. This implementation completed Steve's decentralized distribution database package: Dedication II DAD
Christian Products Retail Background
1977-1978 Inspired by their Bookshop in Brisbane, became Townsville secretary for the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship Int'l and opened the Bookshop in the main street of Townsville. Ran gospel promotions & concerts with Larry Norman, Jamie Owens, Barry McGuire, Honeytree, Chuck Girard, Randy Stonehill and - later in 1984 - Phil Keaggy while promoting Australian artists.
