The Revelation to Saint John

Chapter 13

the Lamb slain from (before) the foundation of the world (universe).

If any man have an ear, let him hear.

The Gospel According to Saint John

Chapter 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

That was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

He came to his own, and his own received him not.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us , we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John bore witness of him, and cried saying This was he of whom I spoke He that comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

And of his fulness have all we received and grace for grace.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

No man has beheld God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

The Gospel According to Saint John

Chapter 6

The Jews then grumbled around him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he says, I came down from heaven?

Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Do not grumble among yourselves.

No man can come to me, except the Father who has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up on the last day.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. All therefore, hearing of the Father, and learning, come to me.

Not that any man has beheld the Father, except the one who is of God, he has beheld the Father.

The Gospel According to Saint Matthew

Chapter 11

All things have been handed over to me from my Father: and no one (fully) knows the Son except the Father: neither does any one (fully) know the Father, except the Son, and to whom the Son is willing to reveal Him.

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Philippians

Chapter 2

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery (that which is seized by force) to be equal with God:

But emptied himself and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.

Wherefore God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Colossians

Chapter 1

Who (his dear son) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn (heir) of all creation:

For by him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions (masters), or principalities (chiefs), or powers (authorities): all things were created by him, and for him:

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist

And he is the head of the body, the church: (he) who is the beginning (chief), the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence (first place).

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Colossians

Chapter 2

As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in him:

Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Beware lest any man spoil (seduce) you through philosophy and empty delusion, after the tradition of men, after the principles (structures) of the world, and not after Christ.

For in him dwells all the fulness (completion) of the Godhead bodily.

And you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality (chief) and power (authority):

In whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead.

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he quickened (made alive) together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses (offences);

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances (decrees) that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

And having spoiled (unclothed) principalities (chiefs) and powers (authorities), he made a show of them openly , triumphing (making a noisy procession) over them in it.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy-day, or of the new moon (month), or of the sabbath (rest) days:

Which are a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ.

Let no man beguile (defraud) you of your reward in a voluntary (self-chosen) humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly (idly) puffed up by his fleshly mind (nous/knowledge),

And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands (ligaments) having nourishment ministered and knit together increases with the increase of God.

Therefore if you be dead with Christ from the principles (structures) of the world, why, as though living in the world, are you subject to ordinances (decrees)

( Touch not, taste not, handle not,

Which all are to perish with the using), after the commandments (injunctions) and doctrines (teachings) of men ?

Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in self-chosen ceremony (religion) and humility, and unsparing of the body; not of any value against the filling up of the flesh.
